Scott In The Hunt For Top Track & Field Award
NEW ORLEANS – Coming off one of the most sensational athletic performances at last weekend’s NCAA Outdoor Championship, Dominique Scott has been selected as a semifinalist for track and field’s most prestigious honor, the USTFCCCA announced Wednesday.
Scott is a first-time Bowerman Award semifinalist selection joining the ranks of former Arkansas legends Sandi Morris and Tina Sutej as Razorbacks recognized as the best representation of the sports’ elite.
Three women’s finalists will be named on June 23 by the Advisory Board. The winner will be announced December 16 at the annual USTFCCCA convention in Orlando, Florida.
A 12-time All-American, Scott reached new heights during her final season as a Razorback, placing a career-high third at the NCAA Cross Country National Championship and capturing two outdoor national titles with victories in the 5,000-meter run and 10,000 at the NCAA outdoor meet in Eugene, Oregon.
The first woman to successfully win the 5K-10K double since 2010, Scott was a vital asset for the programs’ team title accomplishment individually responsible for 20 of Arkansas’ 72 total points.
Scott is a six-time SEC Runner of the Year and holds seven program records including: Cross country 5K, indoor 3K, 5K and DMR and outdoor 1,500, 5K and 10K.

With her last season of eligibility exhausted, Scott will pursue success on the professional circuit and hopes to represent South Africa at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, this August.
