Scott Sets Third Outdoor Program Record in Italy

LIGNANO, Italy – 2015 four-time All-American Dominique Scott raced to a program record at 1,500 meters in the Lignano Meeting International. Scott improved her previous best by almost four seconds to break the 12-year old record held by former Razorback standout Christin Wurth in a time of 4:08.65

Coming off an indoor season in which she captured two national titles (3,000m, DMR), the South Africa native opened her outdoor season with a record-breaking performance in the 10,000-meter run at the Stanford Invitational. She dropped down to 1,500 meters for the Mt. SAC relays where she posted the sixth best NCAA time in the country this year which also ranked her fourth in the event in Arkansas history. Two weeks later, Scott increased her distance for the Payton Jordan Invitational breaking her second record of the season, this time at 5,000 meters in a time of 15:32.55.

Choosing to focus on the longer distances for the 2015 NCAA Outdoor Championships, Scott added 16 points to the team total helping Arkansas get on the podium to finish in fourth place.

She returns to competition this fall for the 2015 cross country season to help the Razorbacks pursue a third-consecutive SEC title.
