FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Looking to build upon the momentum the team gathered from last weekend’s season opener, the top-ranked Arkansas women’s track and field team will compete at the Gladstein and New Mexico invitationals on Jan. 22-23.

The Gladstein Invitational will be hosted by the Indiana Hoosiers in Bloomington, Ind., while the New Mexico Lobos will host the New Mexico Invitational at the Albuquerque Convention Center.

During last week’s Arkansas Invitational, five Razorbacks posted top-10 national marks across six events.

ALL EYES ON…

Freshman vaulter Lexi Weeks has her eyes firmly set on breaking the 15-foot barrier and collecting a new lifetime PR in the pole vault in New Mexico. Weeks’ 4.50m/14-9 performance from the Arkansas Invitational is the best by a collegian so far this season.

Cabot, Ark. natives Tori Weeks and Ariel Voskamp look to regain their form and maintain Arkansas’s dominance in the pole vault. Weeks is currently tied at No. 7 in the SEC while Voskamp, who finished as the runner-up at the 2015 SEC Indoor and Outdoor Championships, sits at No. 4. Both vaulters are primed to have a breakout year under the guidance of assistant coach Bryan Compton.

Deep with talent in the hurdles, Arkansas duo Taliyah Brooks and Payton Stumbaugh will look to solidify their status atop the SEC in the 60-meter hurdles. Brooks leads the conference with her time of 8.22 while Stumbaugh checks in at third –.01 seconds behind Kendell Williams of No. 2 Georgia.

Coming off a sub-5:00 performance in the mile, Regan Ward will move up to the 3,000-meter run this weekend at the Gladstein Invitational. Ward returns to the track following a solid sophomore campaign which saw her qualify for the first round of the 2015 NCAA Outdoor Championships in the 3,000-meter steeplechase.

Ranked third in the nation at 200 meters, Taylor Ellis-Watson will continue her speed development and progression racing for the second weekend in a row at Indiana.
