Toughest Test Of Season In Sight For No. 2 Arkansas

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. –  The second-ranked Arkansas women’s track and field team returns to the friendly confines of the Randal Tyson Indoor Track Center as six top-10 teams set their sights on Fayetteville, Arkansas for the Razorback Invitational this Friday and Saturday.

“We have nine ranked teams coming in this weekend,” head coach Lance Harter said.  “A lot of them are fellow SEC teams. We’ll get to see lots of great competitions from the 60 to the 2,000 meters. Every event has great quality to it.”

Events To Watch (Friday): 

Pentathlon | 1:45 p.m.
Featured Razorback: Taliyah Brooks (PR: 4,580 points*)
Featuring 2017 NCAA Indoor Runner-up senior Razorback Taliyah Brooks is matched up against national qualifier Georgia Bulldog Louisa Grauvogel.

Pole Vault | 2 p.m.
Featured Razorbacks: No. 2 Tori Hoggard (PR: 4.57m/15-0*) and No. 5 Lexi Jacobus (PR: 4.63m/15-2 1/4*)
With three Razorbacks ranked in the NCAA top-15, in Tori Hoggard and Lexi Jacobus enter the weekend as the No. 2 and No. 5 ranked performers, respectively while teammate Desiree Frier comes in at No. 15. The trio is against a field that features top-25 opposition in Lindsey Murray of Ole Miss and Sara Kathrin Stevens of Texas A&M.

200M | 6:55 p.m.
Featured Razorback: No. 12 Payton Chadwick (PR: 23.67)
In the final event of the evening, a field of 11 of the top-25 times of the country take the track including Arkansas junior Payton Chadwick and NCAA leader Danyel White of Texas A&M. Chadwick matched her PR last weekend in Michigan placing first in the 200-meter dash at the Simmons-Harvey Quad with 23.67.

60m Hurdles | Prelims 1:28 p.m., Finals at 3:20 p.m.
Featured Razorback: No. 12 Payton Chadwick (PR: 8.09*)
Payton Chadwick returns to the track to face a field that features six of the top-10 hurdlers in the country including NCAA leader Dior Hall of USC. Chadwick ranks sixth-nationally with a time of 8.14 in the event. Chadwick holds the program record, off her 8.09 performance in 2016 and enters the meet with a best this year of 8.14, secured at last weekend’s Simmons-Harvey Quad

800M| 2:38 p.m.
Featured Razorback: Nikki Hiltz (PR: 2:09.06*)
Prepping to compete in the Wannamaker mile next month at the Millrose Games, senior Razorback Nikki Hiltz will take a step down to the 800 in an effort to get some speed work. Hiltz is against a field that includes the indoor collegiate record holder Jazmine Fray (2:00.69) of Texas A&M.

Mile| 3:55 p.m.
Featured Razorback: Taylor Werner (PR: 4:41.31*)
Already ranked seventh in the country at the distance, sophomore Razorback Taylor Werner will look to improve on her time with a push from a group that also features conference rival Jessica Drop of Georgia.
