Volleyball begins practice

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The University of Arkansas volleyball season is officially underway with the Razorbacks hosting their first practice Monday morning. Players for Robert Pulliza’s 2009 squad reported Sunday for photos and meetings with the first official team practice scheduled for 10 a.m.-noon Monday. The team will practice twice-a-day until classes resume Monday, Aug. 24. Arkansas returns five players from last year’s team and welcomes seven newcomers for what should be an exciting season. Seniors Kristin Seaton and Lindsay Scanlan are charged with leading this young group. “This is the beginning of a really exciting new year,” said Seaton. “We have a lot of new people coming in. Personally as we start the year, I want to be a better leader. I want to be the senior that everyone looks up to. Three-fourths of the team is new and it’s going to be a challenge for us all to come together but I’m excited about being a part of that process.” Tickets for the 2009 Arkansas volleyball season are on sale now. They can be purchased by calling the Razorback Ticket Office at 800-982-HOGS or logging on to ArkansasRazorbacks.com.
