Wichita State Up Next For Razorback Tennis

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Arkansas men’s tennis team will face Wichita State Friday at the Dills Indoor Tennis Center with first serve scheduled for 6 p.m. The meeting between the teams will be the fourth in the past five years, including the Razorbacks’ 5-2 victory last season in Fayetteville.

Junior Blake Strode, ranked No. 76 by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association, leads Arkansas at the top of the line-up and is tied for the team-lead with 10 doubles victories. Freshman Chris Nott leads the Razorbacks with 14 singles win and shares the doubles win total with Strode. Sophomore Bradwin Williams is second on the team with 10 wins in singles action.

This will be the 15th meeting between Arkansas and Wichita State. UA leads the all-time series, 11-3, and has won five straight. Wichita State’s last win in the series came in 1987.

The Arkansas netters enter the match with a 2-2 record after earning two victories against Louisiana-Lafayette and Seminole College last weekend, winning each match with 7-0 scores. Wichita State is 1-0 after a season-opening win against Missouri-Kansas City.

Following their match against the Shockers, the Razorbacks will face Purdue and Cowley County during a doubleheader Sunday in Fayetteville at 12:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., respectively.
