Women's Tennis Announces 2015 Fall Schedule

2015 Fall Schedule

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Nine individual tournaments across the country will highlight a competitive fall slate for the 2015-16 Arkansas women’s tennis team, head coach Michael Hegarty announced Wednesday.

The fall campaign begins Sept. 25-27 with multiple Razorbacks heading to the Little Rock Classic in Little Rock, Arkansas as well as the UVa Invite in Charlottesville, Virginia. Another group will follow up with a trip to Columbia, South Carolina for the Gamecock Classic (Oct. 2-4)

Select Razorbacks will make their way to the west coast for the Riviera All-American Championships in Los Angeles (Oct. 3-11), while others travel to the SMU Classic in Dallas (Oct. 9-11). Arkansas will also have players featured in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association’s Central Regional Championship in Stillwater, Oklahoma (Oct. 15-19).

The Razorbacks will have over a two-week break before the Brown Classic in Providence, Rhode Island (Nov. 6-8).

Coach Hegarty’s squad will round out the fall Nov. 13-15, going different directions again with trips to the ITA Indoors in New York and UNLV Invite in Las Vegas.

“We are excited to begin our fall schedule of competition,” Hegarty said.  “Although it is all individual events, we will be looking to build elements of team success at each tournament. We are very deep this season so extensive fall competition will only help with our development for the spring season.”

The Razorbacks return eight letterwinners from a squad that captured 16 wins and earned the program’s 13th NCAA Team Championship bid last season.
