Arkansas Finishes Fourth at Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic

ATHENS, Ga. – No. 14 Arkansas Women’s Golf finished fourth at the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic, shooting 308 (+20) on the final day of play. The Hogs came in above several ranked opponents, including No. 4 Georgia and No. 13 Georgia, while trailing only Kentucky, No. 6 Ole Miss and No. 1 South Carolina, who won the event at 17-over. Ingrid Lindblad of LSU held on in the third round, as the LSU golfer went wire-to-wire to win the individual medal.

Three Hogs finished in the top 20 for Head Coach Shauna Taylor, as the sophomore trio of Julia Gregg, Kajal Mistry and Ela Anacona helped the Razorbacks secure a top five finish at the loaded event. Gregg led the way, finishing tied for 14th at six-over (222), while both Mistry and Anacona finished just behind her (223, +7), each grabbing a share of 16th place. For Gregg, this marks her second top-15 finish in her last three events, while also marking her fourth-career top-20 collegiate finish. The Liz marked a comeback event for Anacona – after finishing 86th at the Gamecock Intercollegiate, the sophomore registered her first top-20 finish this season, and the third such event of her career. Mistry, meanwhile, continues her solid play this season, as her 16th place finish in Athens was her third top-20 finish of the season and the sixth of her young career.

Freshman Cory Lopez nearly found herself in the top-25, as she finished tied for 26th at the Liz Murphey. She saved her best for last, as her 73 was the best round by any Hog on the day by at least four strokes. Lopez collected two birdies over her last five holes to move herself up the individual leaderboard late.

Redshirt senior Brooke Matthews finished tied for 60th at the event, shooting an 82 in the final round of play.
