LOS CABOS, Mexico – Entering the day tied for the lead, senior Taylor Moore recorded his fifth consecutive round under par and the Arkansas men’s golf team moved up one spot to finish in ninth place in the field of 15 teams at the Querencia Cabo Collegiate.

In a loaded field with 12 teams ranked in the top 35 in the country, Arkansas posted rounds of 291-286-295 for a 20-over 872 and a ninth-place finish. The Razorbacks bested four other ranked programs, including No. 18 LSU and No. 29 Washington that finished at 21-over, while No. 31 Houston finished at 28-over and No. 2 Wake Forest tallied a 14th place finish at 33-over.

No. 11 Georgia ran away with the tournament, clearing the field by 10 shots at 18-under after rounds of 281-268-285 for an 834 total. No. 30 South Florida (-8), No. 34 Baylor (-5), No. 14 California (-3) and No. 7 Stanford (-3) rounded out the top five.

Moore was looking to become the first Razorbacks in program history to post victories in consecutive tournaments, but the senior finished tied for second and one shot off the pace after rounds of 67-68-70 for an 8-under 205. South Florida’s Aksel Olsen captured the individual title at nine-under.

Moore opened the final round on the back nine with a bogey on the par four 10th hole, but that would be his only blemish on the day, posting birdies on No. 14 and No. 3 to record his career-best fifth straight round under par. He led the field in par five scoring at six-under, and was fourth in par four scoring at four-under.

Nicolas Echavarria finished second on the team at 10-over with rounds of 71-75-77, good for T-54th overall, while Kolton Crawford followed with rounds of 74-76-75 to finish 12-over and T-60th.

Alvaro Ortiz and Charles Kim shot a final round four-over 75 to finish T-65th overall, as both players signed counting scores each of the last two days.

The Razorbacks return to action on Monday, March 14, traveling to Athens, Georgia for the Southern Intercollegiate. The one day 36-hole event will be played at Athens Country Club.
