THE TURNING POINT

Arkansas came out fast in the first set and was out in front, 15-13 at the break. The Bulldogs rallied late to tie it at 23-23 but three-straight points and a kill by Maggie Cartwright gave the Razorbacks a 1-0 advantage with a 28-26 opening set win.

The Hogs took a 2-0 match lead after a solid 25-18 performance in the second set but Mississippi State held off the Arkansas offense in the third and fourth sets to tie the match at two sets a piece.

Razorbacks jumped out to a 5-1 lead early in the tie-breaker but Mississippi State responded with a run of their own to pull ahead, 7-6. A service error by the Bulldogs and attack error by MSU would sway the score back in favor of the Hogs as they sparked a 4-2 run with another kill by Cartwright.

Mississippi State called a timeout trailing 12-9 and took four of the next six points after the break, but a final slam by Pamphile is all that Arkansas needed to secure the 15-13 win.
