Buhl and Overstreet Shoot 68; Hogs 13th at Prestige

LA QUINTA, Calif. – William Buhl and Mason Overstreet each fired a final-round 68 as Arkansas posted a 3-under-par team score of 281 to finish 13th (862) at The Prestige, played at PGA WEST – Greg Norman Course (par 71, 7,100 yards).

Texas, ranked 16th, won the 16-team team title with a score of 832, followed by #1 Pepperdine (838), #42 San Diego State (841), #9 Texas Tech (843), #33 Oklahoma State (845), #13 SMU (847), #22 UCLA (849) and #45 Stanford (850).

The final-round score was on par with the seniors’ season average. Buhl has a scoring average of 68.6 in the final round this season and Overstreet’s final-round average is 68.3. Buhl climbed 19 spots on the leaderboard to finish in a tie for 21t (73-71-68=212). Overstreet jumped 14 spots to finish in a tie for 52nd (78-72-68=218).

Buhl had six birdies on the day including four over five holes. The 68 marks his eighth round in the 60’s this season, tying for the team lead. Thanks to his even-par round on Tuesday and his 3-under loop today, Buhl has a team-best 15 rounds at par or better this season.

Tyson Reeder carded a 1-over-par 72 with two bogeys, a birdie and 16 pars to place T39 (68-75-72=215). The senior finished with 39 pars which were the second-best total in the field over three days.

Julian Perico tied for 45th (74-70-73=217). He turned in five birdies in round two and five in round three to finish with 13 birdies over three days, the fourth-best total in the field.

William McDonald finished 74th (79-76-74=229).

In The Prestige individual tournament, played at the nearby Coral Mountain Golf Club (par 72 – 7,145 yards), Luis Garza finished T17 in the 33-person field, shooting a 2-over-par 218 (75-70-73). Mauricio Figueroa was forced to withdraw due to illness.

The Razorbacks travel to Mexico to play in their own Cabo Collegiate, presented by CFO4Life, Mar. 1-3 in Cabo San Lucas (Cabo del Sol – Ocean Course).
