Davison Named SEC Player of the Week
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark.– Arkansas senior INF Karlie Davison has been named the SEC Player of the Week after her performance during the Hogs’ 3-1 week that featured a series win over Missouri and a win at Tulsa, the league office announced Tuesday afternoon.
Davison batted .667 during the week with a 1.769 on-base plus slugging percentage while registering six hits, a home run, three RBI, three runs scored, two walks, and two hit-by-pitches.
She highlighted the Razorbacks at the plate during a 7-2 win at Tulsa on April 22, with a 2-2 night that featured a three-run home run, a run scored, a walk, and a hit-by-pitch. Davison then collected a hit in a 4-0 win over Missouri on Friday before turning in a 2-3 performance with two runs scored during a series-clinching win on Saturday against the Tigers. She completed her weekend by going 1-1 with a walk and a hit-by-pitch in the series finale on Sunday. Defensively, Davison posted a 1.000 fielding percentage with seven putouts and five assists.
The Torrance, Calif., product is having an excellent senior campaign. She is batting .382 this season with six doubles, a triple, seven homers, 36 RBI, and 26 runs scored while posting a .474 on-base percentage and registering 11 multi-hit and 11 multi-RBI games.
No. 6/9 Arkansas (39-9, 13-8 SEC) will wrap up the regular season with a three-game series at Texas (April 30-May 2). Thursday’s contest will be at 6 p.m. on the SEC Network, while Friday and Saturday’s first pitch times are set for 2 p.m. and noon on SEC Network+.
