Fassi Even In Round Two Of #DRI
HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. – University of Arkansas senior Maria Fassi fired an even par 71 leading the sixth-ranked Razorback women’s golf team in second round action at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, on Saturday.
Fassi had one birdie and one bogey on each side of the course in what has proven to be a challenging venue at Long Cove Club this weekend. Seniors Kaylee Benton and Dylan Kim each counted rounds of 73 while Cara Gorlei shot a 76. Junior Grace St-Germain rounded out the Arkansas scores with a 77.
The Razorbacks improved on their round one score shooting 293 and they are T-11th overall with a 23-over 591 with one round remaining.
Nineteenth-ranked Florida State leads the highly-competitive field shooting 565. Third-ranked Duke, No. 13 Wake Forest, No. 10 South Carolina, No. 23 Furman and LSU round out the top five teams. Although the Razorbacks are tied for 11th place, they are only eight shots back of the top five with one round to play.

Overall, we just didn’t get any putts to fall and we again made some errors that put us in tough spots on the course. We are looking forward to an opportunity to clean it up and finish strong tomorrow. Maria Fassi was consistent all day and we are all excited about the final round on Sunday.
