Final Home Stretch for Men’s Tennis this Weekend

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas Men’s Tennis (11-11, 2-7) is approaching its final weekend at the Billingsley Tennis Center for the spring 2022 season. The Razorbacks welcome SEC foe and top 30 team Mississippi State (13-9, 3-6) on Friday before competing in a doubleheader against the Saint Louis Billikens on Saturday.

Arkansas and Mississippi State will face off at 4 p.m. on Friday, and Saturday’s doubleheader is set for match one to begin at 4:30 p.m. with match two to follow, tentatively scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Razorbacks seniors Alex Reco, Nico Rousset and Josh Bortnick are set to be honored prior to Saturday’s doubleheader against the Billikens.

The Hogs and Bulldogs have already met once this season when Arkansas squared off against MSU in the first round of the ITA Indoor Kickoff series. Mississippi State hosted the match and won on home court, 4-0.

The Bulldogs enter the weekend with three ranked players including singles standouts Florian Broska (No. 31) and Nemanja Malesevic (No. 68) as well as the doubles combo of Broska and Gregor Ramskogler (No. 37).

Saint Louis comes to town for Arkansas’ fourth doubleheader of the 2022 season on Saturday. The Razorbacks have gone 5-1 in doubleheaders this year, with four of those wins being 7-0 sweeps.

Saturday’s doubleheader will wrap up the home portion of the Hogs’ schedule with trips to Ole Miss and LSU on the horizon next week before heading to Georgia for the SEC Tournament starting April 20.
