Golf Concludes Round Two of Battle at the Beach

CABO SAN LUCAS, Mexico – The No. 14 Arkansas women’s golf team is now in a tie for eighth place after two rounds at the Battle at the Beach hosted by TCU. Arkansas shot 3-over par as a team today to slip down one spot on the team leaderboard and is at 10-over 578 (291-287) through the first two rounds. The Razorbacks are tied with Clemson with both teams being two strokes behind seventh-place Mississippi State. Tournament host TCU leads the way with a 9-under 559.

In round two, Ffion Tynan led the way with a 2-under 69 to tally a new career-low round, as well as her first round in the 60s during her young collegiate career. The sophomore tallied four birdies and just two bogeys on the day to jump up 30 spots in the individual leaderboard. She is now tied for 25th with a 3-over 145 across two rounds.

Kendall Todd was solid once again, finishing the day with an even-par 71. She tallied four birdies and stays put in a tie for 11th at 1-under (70-71). Miriam Ayora follows with the third lowest score among Razorbacks on Saturday, tallying a 2-over 73. She had 14 pars, one birdie and three bogeys. Ayora is in a tie for 30th.

Kajal Mistry finished round two with a 3-over 74. She had two birdies but ran into some trouble in the back nine. She is tied with Ayora in 30th. Meghan Royal, playing in this tournament as an individual, also shot a 3-over 74 on day two. She is two-over across two rounds to stand in a tie for 22nd. Reagan Zibilski has tallied 76s in her first two rounds to sit in a tie for 69th.

After two rounds, Arkansas is fourth in par 4s average with 4.09 and has the second most pars among the tournament field with 113 after 59 on Saturday.
