Gregg Tied for 11th, Hogs Tied for Seventh headed into Day Two of IJGA Collegiate Invitational

GUADALAJARA, Mexico – Arkansas Women’s Golf played a 293 (+5) as a team on day one of the IJGA Collegiate Invitational, good for a share of seventh place through 18 holes of play. The Hogs are currently in a four way tie, as Clemson, Texas A&M, and Florida State are all also at five-over after round one. Baylor leads the field, as the Bears shot a 285 on day one.

Freshman Julia Gregg played a great first round in Guadalajara, firing a one-under 71, good enough to give her a share of 11th place. For Gregg, it was her third-career round under par, and her first such round since the Cougar Classic back in September. The freshman is five-strokes behind the leader.

Redshirt sophomore Brooke Matthews and freshman Kajal Mistry both hold a share of 24th after day one, as both fired 73s during the opening round. Both carded three birdies on the day.

Fourth among the traveling Hogs was junior Maria Hoyos, who finished day one tied for 48th place after carding a 76 in round one. Sophomore Ximena Gonzalez is currently tied for 65th, as she tallied a 79 in round one.
