Hogs Eighth After Two Rounds

ATHENS, Ga. – No. 17 Arkansas Women’s Golf slid five spots down the leaderboard on Saturday afternoon, as the Hogs are now eighth at the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic. Arkansas shot a 312 (+24) as a team on Saturday, one day after going 294 (+6). No. 4 South Carolina took the lead over the second 18 holes, firing a tournament-best round of 291. Hailee Cooper of Texas A&M and Polly Mack of Alabama are both even after two rounds, and both sit atop the leaderboard.

Junior Kajal Mistry remains within striking distance of her second straight individual medal after 36 holes, as she is tied for sixth. Mistry followed her day one 72 up with a 74 on day two, carding four birdies, four bogeys and a double on 11. She is just two strokes behind Mack and Cooper.

Freshman Gio Fernandez stayed within the top-25, firing a six-over 78 on day two. Fernandez was four over through her first five holes, but had two huge birdies before the turn, showing her mettle despite her youth. She is seven-over headed into round three.
