Hogs Finish with Best Round at SEC Championship

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Arkansas women’s golf team finished the 2023 SEC Championship stroke play portion with the team’s best round over the week with a 10-over 298. Arkansas completed the tournament with a 52-over 916 (306-312-298), which was 11 strokes behind 11th-place Kentucky and Tennessee and 11 ahead of 14th-place Missouri. Teeing off from 10 for all three rounds, the Hogs shot 4-over in the front nine to close out play.

Reagan Zibilski shot her best round of the week with a 1-over 73. She had just three bogeys, while tallying two birdies and 13 pars. Shooting even through the front nine, Zibilski was able to gain some movement on the leaderboard to finish in a tie for 55th with a 17-over 233 (79-81-73).

Ela Anacona came into the day as a substitute and delivered a solid round for the Hogs. She was even going into hole six, but after hitting the ball into the creek, she had to settle for a double bogey at the hole. That was the most damage she ran into on the day, finishing with a 2-over 74 behind three birdies.

Julia Gregg shot a 3-over 75 on Friday, while closing out the day with 10 straight pars. She had three bogeys across the first eight holes but was able to bounce back for a strong finish. Gregg finished stroke play with a 14-over 230 (79-76-75) to tie for 48th.

Miriam Ayora shot a 4-over 76 to finish stroke play with the Hogs’ best finish, which was a tie for 43rd with a 13-over 229 (75-78-76). After starting the day with a bogey on 10, Ayora came up with nine straight pars. On the front nine, she had three bogeys but that was the most trouble she had on the day.

Kajal Mistry had a challenging day on the golf course to finish with an 11-over 83. She was 4-over through the front nine and would slide to a tie for 59th with a 20-over 236 (76-77-83) to close out the tournament.
