Hogs In Ninth Heading Into Final Round

WEST POINT, Miss. – No. 3 Arkansas Women’s Golf (287-299, +10) is in ninth place at The Ally after two rounds of play. Head Coach Shauna Taylor’s Hogs were 11-over (299) as a team on the day, and are five strokes behind eighth-place LSU. No. 14 Alabama leads the event at 13-under, while Florida is in second at nine-under. Benedetta Moresco of Alabama leads the event at 15 under.

Junior Julia Gregg paced the Hogs again on Tuesday, as she shot a 71 for the second straight day, bringing her to two-under for the tournament, good for a share of ninth place heading into the final round. Gregg played two birdies during her second round, on eight and ten, to just one bogey. With her two rounds under par at The Ally, Gregg now has played five such rounds this season.

Fellow junior Kajal Mistry is just outside the top-20, sitting tied for 21st place after two days of golf at Old Waverly. After matching Gregg on day one with a 71 of her own, Mistry fired a two-over 74 on day two. Mistry fired three birdies on the day, but offset them with three bogeys and a double on 14. If she can move herself into the top-20 in round three, Mistry will finish the fall with four consecutive top-20 finishes.

Third in the Hog lineup is Cory Lopez, who currently sits at four-over for the event, good for a share of 36th place. Lopez carded a 75 during her second 18 holes of golf at the Ally, playing a clean round outside of a double on six and a bogey on 13.

Junior Ela Anacona and redshirt senior Brooke Matthews are tied for 53rd and 55th, respectfully. Anacona shot an 80 in round two, while Matthews carded a 79.

Sophomore Miriam Ayora, who is playing in the event as an individual, is lighting it up. After posting a career-best 67 in round one, behind a career-best seven birdies, Ayora fired a 74 in round two, and currently sits at three-under, tied for a share of seventh place.
