Hogs Looking For a Bounce Back Against Cougs

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas Swimming and Diving returns to Fayetteville this Saturday, as Head Coach Neil Harper’s Hogs host the Houston Cougars on Saturday, Oct. 30. The meet will be held in the  Arkansas Natatorium, and will begin at 11 a.m. The Razorbacks are 2-1 on the year and the Cougars are 4-1 on the year.

Scouting the Cougs

The Houston Cougars are 4-1 on the year. The Cougars are coming off of a sweep against Rice at the Rice Invitational. The Cougars posted a team score of 191 to Rice’s 143 team score. Houston also beat the Owls 95-72 on the first day of the Rice Invitational.

 Last Time Out

The Hogs are coming off a dual meet loss to Missouri. Seniors Kobie Melton and Vanessa Herrmann each claimed multiple victories against the Tigers, who are currently ranked 20th in the country. Melton tallied victories in the 100-yard backstroke and 100-yard freestyle, while Herrmann won the 200-yard breaststroke and 100-yard breaststroke. Senior Andrea Sansores picked up a win in the 100-yard butterfly. Sophomore Bella Cothern had a personal best time in the 50 Freestyle with a 22.75. Freshman Grace Walker, meanwhile, qualified for NCAA Zone Championships with her score of 239.03 in the Platform. Bella Cothern, Vanessa Herrmann, Andrea Sansores, and Kobie Melton also put-up NCAA B-Cut Times. Additionally, the Razorbacks notched the second-fastest 400 Freestyle relay time in the nation.
