No. 3 Arkansas Finishes in 11th at Moon Golf Invitational

 MELBOURNE, Fla. – The No. 3 Arkansas women’s golf team finished in 11th at the Moon Golf Invitational with a 17-over 881 (289-298-294). Arkansas shot +6 in the final round to drop six spots in the standings. After finishing with a 1-under 71 on Tuesday, Maria José Marin led the Hogs in Florida with a 1-over 217 (70-76-71) to tie for 17th out of 90 golfers.

José Marin teed off from hole No. 4 and had three bogeys through holes 10-13. She then followed that with a birdie on the 14th hole and her first eagle of the season on the 15th to go back under par. She finished out her final six holes with one birdie, one bogey and four pars to log a 1-under 71. José Marin tied for 17th with 217, which led the Hogs. She was one of nine players in the field to come up with an eagle in the tournament.

Miriam Ayora settled in during the final round after a tough start to finish with a 72. She had a bogey and double bogey after her first nine holes, but logged four birdies, including ones back-to-back-to-back holes (18, 1 and 2), and three pars in her remaining seven holes. Ayora finished the tournament in a tie for 26th with a 3-over 219 (72-75-72). Her 11 birdies was tied for the fourth most in the tournament field.

Ela Anacona logged a 3-over 75 in the final round behind two birdies and 11 pars, but her five bogeys pushed her above par. She tied for 51st with an 8-over 224 (75-74-75).

Reagan Zibilski shot a 4-over 76 on Tuesday. She started out her day with a birdie after teeing off from the fifth hole and finished her day with three birdies and nine pars, but five bogeys and a double bogey on the second hole. Zibilski ended the tournament in a tie for 44th with a 7-over 223 (74-72-76). Kendall Todd finished the tournament with a 4-over 76 in the third round with two birdies and 10 pars, but six bogeys. She tied for 62nd in the field with a 10-over 226 (73-77-76).

The Hogs logged the second-best par 3s average with a 3.03 average and the third most birdies with 42 in the tournament field.
