Razorbacks Advance to Quarterfinals at ITA Central Regionals

IOWA CITY, Iowa – The University of Arkansas women’s tennis team advances a doubles duo and sophomore Indianna Spink to the quarterfinals on day three of the ITA Central Regionals.

Sophomore Morgan Cross and partner Tatum Rice continue their run in the doubles bracket, defeating host Iowa’s Gillas/Mannix 8-2. The duo will face Sleeth and Psareva of Oklahoma for a spot in the semifinals at 9 a.m. CT tomorrow.

In singles competition, three Razorbacks looked to continue their run in the tournament. Tatum Rice fell in a tough three-set match (5-7, 6-3, 6-3) against Tulsa’s Laia Conde Monfort. Morgan Cross won her first match (6-3, 2-6, 6-4), but dropped her second (6-3, 6-3).

Indianna Spink earned a spot in the quarterfinals with her two wins. Spink battled in two three-set showdowns, coming up victorious against Benedejcic of Tulsa (6-3, 6-7, 6-2) and Kezuka of Iowa State (6-7, 7-5, 7-5). Spink will face Kansas State’s Karine Marion-Job tomorrow morning.
