Razorbacks Remain In Top-10 At DRI

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC – The 18th-ranked University of Arkansas counted a 301 and remain in the top-10 after two rounds of play at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate at Long Cove Club on Saturday.

Arkansas stands in 10th place with rounds of 300-301=601 (+33). Seventh-ranked Wake Forest continues to lead the field with a 575 followed by No. 14 UCAL at 580. Baylor, ranked No. 20, is third with 587, with No. 19 Auburn, 592, and No. 1 Texas, 593, rounding out the top-five teams.

Freshman Ela Anacona leads Arkansas for the second round and is in the clubhouse with rounds of 73-75-148. She is T22 overall with one round remaining. Julia Gregg fired the low Razorback round of the day with a 74 to pair with her first-round 76. Gregg is T32 overall. Brooke Matthews finished the day T40 overall shooting 74-77=151 followed by Kajal Mistry with rounds of 77-75=152 to stand T45. Maria Hoyos rounds out the Razorback lineup and is T58th overall shooting 77-78=155.

The Razorbacks are finding success on the longer holds and rank fourth in the field playing the par-4s and third on the par-5 holes. Matthews leads the team and ranks T5 against the field with 27 birdies over two rounds.

Arkansas returns to the course at 8:40 a.m. for final round action. The Razorbacks pair with South Carolina and Alabama on Sunday.
