Razorbacks Round up Regular Season with Road Trip to Ole Miss, LSU

Arkansas Men’s Tennis (14-11, 3-7) will compete in its final stretch of the regular season this weekend when the Hogs travel to take on Ole Miss and LSU. The Razorbacks and Rebels will meet on Friday at 3 p.m. while the Tigers will welcome the Hogs to Baton Rouge on Sunday at 1 p.m.

The Razorbacks are riding a four-match winning streak coming into the weekend. The Hogs defeated Alabama on the road last Sunday before returning home to defeat top 30 Mississippi State on Friday and sweep Saint Louis in a doubleheader on Saturday.

Ole Miss started the season 11-4 before losing seven of their last eight matches. The Rebels reached a national ranking of No. 20 on March 9 and are still a top 40 team. Nikola Slavic leads the Rebs ranked No. 28 in singles, and Finn Reynolds and Lukas Engelhardt have teamed up to be the No. 17 doubles duo in the country.

LSU’s best win of the season came on March 13 when the Tigers beat then-No. 20 Ole Miss on the road, 5-2. Arkansas will be looking for its first win over LSU since 2018. The Tigers are led by sophomore Ronnie Hohmann, ranked No. 40 in the nation in singles.

Arkansas senior Alex Reco saw a jump in the singles ranking this week, moving from No. 107 to No. 58. Reco and the Hogs are currently in eighth place in the Southeastern Conference with the SEC Tournament right around the corner, beginning on April 20.
