Razorbacks Secure Sunday Sweep Against Auburn

FAYETTEVILLE – The University of Arkansas volleyball team clinched its first conference sweep of the season on Sunday afternoon, taking the three-set victory against Auburn to move to 8-13 overall and 2-7 in SEC play.

THE TURNING POINT

With a 1-0 match lead, Arkansas came out firing in the second set and swinging .355, jumped ahead 2-0 with a 25-21 set two win. The Hogs kept rolling through into the third set and while holding Auburn’s offense to a .000 hitting percentage in the final set, used a 5-0 scoring run to clinch the sweep by a score of 25-18.

The Razorbacks gave up an SEC season low one service ace, recording the second-best reception percentage in a match since the Hogs’ error-less reception performance at San Diego State in September.

UP NEXT

The Hogs hit the road for two tough contests next week, visiting the Georgia Bulldogs on Wednesday and the Kentucky Wildcats on Sunday. Both Georgia and Kentucky are atop the league standings.
