SEC weekly honors for Rivaldo Marshall, Abdoul Sy-Savane

FAYETTEVILLE – A pair of Razorbacks received weekly SEC honors from their performances at the John McDonnell Invitational. Rivaldo Marshall was named SEC Runner of the Week while Abdoul Sy-Savane earned SEC Freshman of the Week.

Marshall produced a career best time of 1:44.15 in the 800m, which ranks No. 5 on the all-time collegiate list and No. 2 on the UA all-time list. For the 2026 season it ranks No. 5 in the world and is the Division I collegiate leader.

On the Jamaica all-time list Marshall ranks as the No. 3 performer behind a 1:42.76 by Navasky Anderson and a 1:43.74 by teammate Tyrice Taylor. The previous best by Marshall was 1:45.59 in winning the Mt. SAC Relays in 2025.

Sy-Savane set a career best of 13.53 in winning the 110m hurdles ahead of teammate Jerome Campbell (13.54) and moved to No. 8 on the UA all-time list. Sy-Savane, who ranks as the second best freshman this season, had a windy 13.43 performance the previous week at Mt. SAC.

Those performances, along with a 1:44.74 by Taylor in the 800m race, moved Arkansas from No. 2 into the No. 1 position in this weeks’ USTFCCCA national rankings.

The Razorbacks are followed by LSU, Georgia, Texas A&M, Oregon, Tennessee, Auburn, USC, Nebraska, and Louisville among the top 10.
