Six Home Games Highlight Fall Schedule

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – With four of five competition dates slated for its home field at Bogle Park, the University of Arkansas softball team is scheduled to play eight games as part of its fall season. The Razorbacks’ fall slate begins Oct. 12 against Neosho and features three doubleheaders overall, including a Nov. 6 twinbill against defending NCAA champion Oklahoma. All games at Bogle Park are open and free to the public.

Oct. 17 vs Neosho – 2 p.m.
Oct. 19 vs Crowder College (DH) – 4/6 p.m.
Oct. 23 at Oklahoma State (DH) – 1/3 p.m.
Oct. 26 vs St. Gregory’s – 5 p.m.
Nov. 6 vs Oklahoma (DH) – 12/2 p.m.

The Razorbacks’ 2016-17 roster features a six-member senior class of Stephanie Canfield, Marley Harmon, Shelby Hiers, Grace Moll, Parker Pocklington and Nicole Schroeder. Canfield is the program’s career leader in batting average (.361) and Schroeder will begin her senior season tied for sixth on Arkansas’ all-time home runs list. The Razorbacks are led by head coach Courtney Deifel, now in her second season in Fayetteville.

Arkansas also welcomes back sophomore Ashley Diaz who earned a spot on last year’s NFCA All-South Region Second Team. She led the team with .331 batting average, 12 home runs and 41 RBIs during her freshman campaign. Among the class of newcomers, the Razorbacks have the 2016 MaxPreps National Player of the Year in freshman Caroline Hedgcock.
