Successful Friday For Razorbacks

FORT MYERS, Fla.- Arkansas men’s tennis completed day one of singles and doubles action at the FGCU Fall Invite.

In the singles play, the Razorbacks won three of the four matches. Senior Santiago Munoz defeated FGCU’s Oliver Landert, 6-4, 7-5. Junior Johan den Toom came out with a quick win in the green singles division against Eduardo Alfonozo of FGCU, 6-1, 6-2. In the gold singles division, red-shirt junior Jacob Herndon finished strong with a win against Sam Chaffin of FGCU, 6-2, 5-7, 6-1.

Senior Austin Robles played three sets, but came up short in the white singles division against Lucas Vaz of FGCU, 6-7, 6-1, 6-0.

Arkansas came out victorious in the doubles play on Friday morning. Munoz and den Toom defeated sibling’s duo Andres Alfonzo and Eduardo Alfonzo of FGCU, 8-6. Robles and Herndon claimed a victory against FGCU’s Ricky Ventura and Chris Perrigan, 8-6.

The Razorbacks are back in action tomorrow for their second day of competition in Fort Myers.
