Tigers Even Series Saturday

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – No. 19 Arkansas fell to No. 11 Missouri, 12-3 (5), in front of a single-game program record crowd of 3,885 Saturday afternoon at Bogle Park.

The loss forces a Sunday rubber match beginning at 2 p.m. on SEC Network with Roy Philpott (play-by-play) and Erin Miller (analyst) on the call.

Arkansas moves to 27-10 overall and 6-5 in league play. The Hogs will look to clinch their second straight top-15 series win and their first series victory vs. the Tigers since 2018.

The Hogs were outhit at a 9-3 clip and held scoreless until they burst through for three runs in the fourth. Cylie Halvorson led Arkansas with a two-RBI double she pounded in the fourth. Nia Carter was responsible for Arkansas’ final run after blasting her second triple of the season in the fourth to score Halvorson from second, trimming Missouri’s lead to 8-3.

The Tigers jumped out to an early lead after plating a pair of runs on a passed ball and wild pitch in the second. Missouri added a run in the third on a solo home run and then pieced together a five-spot in the fourth for an 8-0 advantage. After the Hogs cut the lead to 8-3 in the fourth, the Tigers put up four runs in the fifth.

LHP Robyn Herron (7-7) made her 13th start this season and tossed 3.2 frames, surrendering four earned runs on five hits while punching out five. LHP Hannah Camenzind threw 1.1 innings of relief and gave up six earned runs on five hits with a strikeout.
