Volleyball Beats Georgia for Third-Straight Win
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Behind an efficient offensive attack and stingy defensive play at the net, the University of Arkansas won its third straight with Sunday’s straight-set victory over Georgia at Barnhill Arena. The Razorbacks registered a .383 hitting percentage while holding UGA to a .037 mark behind 11.0 total team blocks. With the win, Arkansas improved to 17-9 overall and 7-7 in SEC play.
The Razorbacks return to action Wednesday evening when they host Missouri at Barnhill Arena. The SEC matchup is set for a 5 p.m. (CT) start. Arkansas will be looking to extend its recent hot streak against a Missouri team that comes to Fayetteville in second place in the SEC standings.

For the second time this week, the junior duo of Pilar Victoria and Danielle Harbin paced the Razorbacks’ offensive output with 16 and 13 kills, respectively. Victoria finished the match with a .481 hitting percentage while Harbin hit .500 against the Bulldogs. During the team’s three-match winning streak, Harbin is hitting .525 while averaging 4.00 kills per set. In running the offense, fellow junior Adrien Wohlschlaeger dished out 39 assists in the win.
Defensively, the Razorbacks tallied double-digit blocks for the 11th time this season and for the fifth time in the team’s last nine matches. Arkansas is averaging 2.73 blocks per set in that stretch. Senior Chanell Clark-Bibbs came in off the bench for a match-high seven total blocks. She added three kills on four swings and two services aces. From the service line, the Razorbacks had five aces with two each from Clark-Bibbs and freshman Okiana Valle and one from Victoria.
With the score tied at 7-all in the first set, the Razorbacks won six of the next eight points for a 13-9 lead after Clark-Bibbs served an ace. Later in the set, Arkansas turned a three-point cushion into a 20-13 advantage, capping the run when Clark-Bibbs and Wohlschlaeger teamed up for a block. Georgia (5-21, 0-14 SEC) got no closer than five for the rest of the set. The Razorbacks closed out the opener, 25-17, with a tandem block by Harbin and Ana Sofia Jusino.
The teams were tied at six in the second set before Arkansas put together a 7-1 run to cushion its lead to 13-7 after a kill off the hand of Victoria. The Razorbacks held steady and maintained their lead in the second, reaching 20 with a second-contact kill by Wohlschlaeger. Clark-Bibbs and Victoria built a block for set point at 24-15, and two points later, Harbin put away her eighth kill to give Arkansas the 2-0 match lead heading into halftime.
Four different Razorbacks registered a kill during another 7-1 run at the beginning of the third set. Arkansas led 11-5 at the end of the surge. The home team steadily stretched its lead and took its first double-digit advantage of the match at 20-10 when Clark-Bibbs took care of a Georgia overpass. Like she did in Wednesday’s win over LSU, Harbin registered the final kill of the match to seal the Razorbacks’ straight-set win.
