FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – For the 16th time in the history of both programs, the nationally-ranked Arkansas men’s and women’s cross country teams swept the Southeastern Conference Championship with back-to-back victories in the women’s 6K and men’s 8K on Friday morning at Agri Park.
First to take the course, the Razorback women, led by sophomore Devin Clark, picked up their fourth-consecutive cross country conference title with their top five, placing among the 15 best runners of the day. Their sixth and seventh student-athletes also finished inside the top 20.
The Arkansas men followed with a dominant performance of their own as junior Alex George paced the Hogs to their 49th conference title as the 8K individual champion, leading four of his teammates to top-10 finishes.
Arkansas will break next week, returning to action back at Agri Park on Friday, Nov. 11 as the hosts of the 2016 NCAA South Central Region Championship.
