Women’s Tennis Adds Dutch Propsect

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark.- The Arkansas women’s tennis team added one signee on National Signing Day, head coach Courtney Steinbock announced Thursday afternoon. Laura Rijkers will join the Razorbacks for the spring semester and will be eligible to compete immediately.

The Veldhoven, Netherlands native’s career-high national ranking in singles play No. 25 and No. 14 in doubles play, mainly competing at the national level in NRT Tournaments.

Her career highlights include winning the NRT in Rotterdam twice and making it to the semifinals in two NRT Tournaments.

“Laura will have an immediate impact on the program with her determination and work ethic,” Steinbock said.

The Hogs returned seven student-athletes from last year’s roster and welcomed one freshman in the fall. The team will return to the court in January to begin dual play in the first year under Steinbock.
