#11 Razorback MGolf Set For Regular-Season Finale

FAYETTEVILLE – The #11 Arkansas men’s golf program will close the 2023-24 regular season as it did last season by playing in the Lewis Chitengwa Memorial April 8-9 at the University of Virginia’s Birdwood Golf Course (par 71, 7,116 yards).

The 13-team field features #6 Florida State, #10 Tennessee, #12 Virginia, #31 North Florida and #41 Northwestern in addition to the 11th-ranked Razorbacks. Rounding out the field are Clemson, Liberty, Loyola (Md.), Texas State, Toledo and Virginia Tech.

Last year, Arkansas used a third-place finish at the Lewis Chitengwa Memorial to secure an eventual berth to the NCAA Regional. Florida State won last year’s event with a score of 811 (-41), followed by host Virginia at 825 (-27) and Arkansas at 828 (-24). Auburn and Northwestern were 10 shots behind the Razorbacks.

Arkansas will take the same starting lineup to Virginia which placed fourth at the Valspar Collegiate last time out.

Jacob Skov Olesen, ranked ninth nationally, will play in the #1 position, followed by Christian Castillo, who was SEC co-Golfer of the Week after finishing runner-up at the Valspar. John Driscoll III, who has 17 rounds of par or better this year, will play in the #3 spot while Thomas Curry and Manuel Lozada complete the lineup. John Daly II, who has six top-20 finishes in seven events this season, will play as an individual.

Castillo and Lozada played in the event last season. Castillo, playing as an individual, finished T-45th (76-74-68) and Lozada was T-58th (67-78=77).

After the Lewis Chitengwa Memorial, Arkansas will compete in the 2024 SEC Championship, which starts on April 24.
