Razorback freshmen Erich Fortlage, playing as an individual, and Gerardo Gomez each fired under par rounds Tuesday to climb nearly 20 spots up the leaderboard after two rounds of the fifth annual Blessings Collegiate Invitational, presented by Tyson Foods.

The 23rd-ranked Arkansas men’s golf team has three players among the top 20 and stand in a tied for third with an 11-over-par score of 299 after day one of the fifth annual Blessings Collegiate Invitational, presented by Tyson Foods.

The Arkansas women’s and men’s golf program, ranked 8th and 23rd respectively, will host the fifth annual Blessings Collegiate Invitational, presented by Tyson Foods, from Sept. 30-Oct. 2 (Mon.-Wed.) at the Blessings Golf Club. Live television coverage will be on GOLF Channel from 3:30-6:30 pm each day. Admission and parking are free.

The 17th-ranked Arkansas men’s golf program opened its 2024-25 season with a 10th-place finish at the Folds of Honor Colllegiate, played at American Dunes Golf Club. The Razorbacks finished with a 54-hole score of 889.

The 17th-ranked Arkansas men’s golf program had one of the better rounds on Tuesday, firing a 1-over-par 285, and moved up into a tie for ninth at the Folds of Honor Collegiate. Razorback senior Matthis Lefevre played a key role in the team performance with his 4-under 67, which tied for the second-best round for the day.

For the second consecutive year, the Arkansas men’s golf program will open its season by playing in the Folds of Honor Collegiate, played Sept. 9-11 in Grand Haven, Mich., at American Dunes Golf Club. GOLF Channel will broadcast men’s action live each day.

The new-look Razorbacks are still being considered one of the top programs in the country as Arkansas is ranked 17th in the preseason Bushnell/Golfweek DI Coaches Poll, the Golf Coaches Association of America announced.

Five Razorbacks – two current, two incoming freshmen and one former – will compete at the 124th USGA U.S. Amateur Championship, played Aug. 12-18 in Chaska, Minn., at Hazeltine National Golf Club and Chaska Town Course.
