Razorback MGolf is T6 After 36 Holes in Spring Opener

Arkansas opened its spring season Sunday with 36 holes at The Hayt, shooting an opening round 295 before rallying with a 1-under-par 287 in round two and standing in a tie for sixth with a score of 582.

The Arkansas men’s golf program opens the spring portion of its 2022-23 schedule Feb. 5-6 at the Hayt, which will be played for the 31st time, at Sawgrass Country Club .

Mateo Fernandez de Oliveira shattered the scoring record – finishing 23-under par with a score of 265 – to win the 2023 Latin America Amateur Championship. He led a group of four Razorbacks that finished among the top 15 as Manuel Lozada placed for fifth (-14), Julian Perico placed sixth (-13) and Segundo Oliva Pinto tied for 15th (-6).

University of Arkansas senior Mateo Fernandez de Oliveira used a historic day, shooting a 63 with a 54-hole total of 198, to take control of the 2023 Latin America Amateur Championship.
