Fernandez de Oliveira Wins South America Am; 5 Hogs Finish in Top 20

University of Arkansas junior Mateo Fernandez de Oliveira fired a final round 69 to hold off Razorback teammate and runner-up Segundo Oliva Pinto and win the 2022 South America Amateur Championship, played at the Quito Tennis and Golf Club in Quito, Ecuador.

Five Razorbacks – Mateo Fernandez de Oliveira, Segunda Oliva Pinto, Manuel Lozada, Julian Perico and Juan Camilo Vesga – will compete the 2022 South American Amateur, played Jan. 12-15 at Quito Tennis and Golf Club in Quito, Ecuador.

What an exciting Saturday on The Hill, as our Razorback football team battled for an exciting last-minute 31-28 win over No. 17 Mississippi State. Following the victory, Arkansas is ranked No. 25 in this week’s College Football Playoff rankings.

Three Razorbacks from the men’s golf team will represent their respective home countries in the 11th annual Spirit International Amateur Golf Championship Nov. 4-6 in Trinity, Texas, at Whispering Pines Golf Club.
