Mental Health & Performance

The mission of Arkansas Athletics’ Mental Health & Performance (MHP) is to provide the best possible counseling and sport psychology services to the NCAA student-athletes at the University of Arkansas.

We strive to do that by having one of the lowest full-time counselor to student-athlete ratios in the country (as of Fall 2019, our ratio is 155:1), by taking an outreach-based approach to our teams, and by creating a confidential, safe, and welcoming environment where student-athletes feel comfortable discussing any number of topics.

Our counselors represent three distinct areas of training – we have a licensed psychologist, a licensed certified social worker, and a licensed professional counselor. Additionally, each has training and experience in a wide range of clinical topics from adjustment and transition concerns to problems with everyday functioning to severe and pervasive mental illnesses.

We are available to assist with any needs or concerns!
