#14 Arkansas Places 12th at SEC Match Play

VESTAVIA HILLS, Ala. – Arkansas slipped one spot and finished 12th (841 / +1) after 54 holes of stroke play at the SEC Match Play, hosted by Jerry Pate at Old Overton Club.

The event will conclude Tuesday with one round of match play. Arkansas will square off versus Kentucky. The two teams will be first off the tee with a 7:30 am (CT) start time.

Top-ranked Vanderbilt was stroke play medalist, posting a 39-under-par score of 801. #12 Tennessee finished second (805 / -35) and #13 Auburn was third (807 / -33).

Mateo Fernandez de Oliveira led the Razorbacks in round three, carding a 2-under-par round of 68. His score was bolstered by posting an eagle on the 331-yard, par-4 6th hole, which played at his 15th hole of the day. Fernandez de Oliveira used his second-straight round in the 60’s to move up five spots to finish tied for 31st (73-67-68=208 / -2).

Manuel Lozada and Julian Perico, each with a team-best 14 birdies for the event, tied for 44th at 212 (+2). Lozada, who finished with a birdie, carded a 71 Monday while Perico, who played the par 5’s at a tournament-best 5-under-par had a 72. Wil Gibson, whose 36 pars over 54 holes were the third-best total, finished in a tie for 52nd (73-67-73=213 / +3) and Enrique Dimayuga tied for 61st (71-72-74=217 / +7).

Arkansas returns home to host the third annual Blessings Collegiate Invitational – presented by Tyson Foods – Oct. 3-5 at Blessing Golf Club. The event features 11 men’s and 11 women’s teams playing at the same time. Admission is free GOLF Channel will provide live coverage each afternoon. The 2022 BCI field includes host Arkansas, Cal, Central Florida, Clemson, Kansas, Louisville, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Texas A&M, UCLA and UNLV.
