#14 Arkansas T11 After 36 Holes at SEC Match Play

VESTAVIA HILLS, Ala. – Arkansas had a slow start but rallied with a 9-under-par 271 Sunday afternoon to stand in a tie for 11th with a 36-hole score of 557 (-3) at the SEC Match Play, hosted by Jerry Pate at Old Overton Club.

The event will feature 18 more holes of stroke play on Monday followed by one round of match play on Tuesday.

Top-ranked Vanderbilt leads at -32, followed by #13 Auburn (-24), #12 Tennessee (-23), #16 Georgia (-13), #17 Texas A&M (-11) and #21 LSU (-11).

A trio of Razorbacks is tied for 36, each at even par through 36 holes at 140. Julian Perico, who won at this course as a freshman, paced Arkansas in the morning session with a 69 before shooting 71 in the afternoon. He tallied 11 birdies through two rounds, which was the second-best total in the field. Both Mateo Fernandez de Oliveira and Wil Gibson posted identical rounds of 73-67 for their 140. Both players additionally carded four birdies with one bogey in the afternoon to shoot their 3-under 67.

Manuel Lozada is one stroke back and tied for 44th (75-66=141). For the second straight tournament, Lozada has shot a 66 thanks to seven birdies, a bogey and a double.

Enrique Dimayuga is tied for 57th (71-72=143 / =3).
