2026 Commonwealth Games includes six Arkansas alums

FAYETTEVILLE – Six Arkansas alums will represent four countries during the Commonwealth Games as track and field begins on Monday in Glasgow, Scotland, at the Scotstoun Stadium.

Razorbacks competing on the first day of track and field include Jerome Campbell (Jamaica) in the 110m hurdles with a prelim and final, Romaine Beckford (Jamaica) in the high jump, and Shafiqua Maloney (St. Vincent and the Grenadines) in the first round of the women’s 800m.

Amber Anning (England) competes in the first round of the women’s 400m on Tuesday. Jah-Nhai Perinchief (Bermuda) is entered in men’s triple jump qualifying on Thursday while Nia Robinson (Jamaica) competes in women’s long jump qualifying on Friday.

USATF Championships | Final Day

On the final day of the USATF Championships in New York on Sunday, Sydney Vaught finished fourth in the 5,000m with a time of 15:08.41 after winning the 10,000m on Thursday.

Emily Mackay won the 5,000m race in 14:55.82 over Shelby Houlihan (14:57.88) and Parker Valby (15:06.25). Vaught was stationed in fourth place with the lead pack for a majority of the race.
