2026 Patriot League Player of the Year Kylie Doherty Inks with Razorbacks

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark.  – Former Boston University outfielder and 2026 Patriot League Player of the Year Kylie Doherty has transferred to Arkansas to join Head Coach Courtney Deifel and the Razorbacks.

Doherty comes to Fayetteville after spending her freshman-junior seasons at Boston University, where she was a three-time All-Patriot League selection and the 2026 Patriot League Player of the Year in addition to being named First-Team NFCA All-Region in 2025 and 2026. During her time at BU, she batted .336 with 178 hits, 27 doubles, six triples, 47 home runs, 172 RBI, 75 walks, and 154 runs scored with a 1.090 OPS while leading the Terriers to three conference titles. Defensively, she has posted a .996 career fielding percentage with 109 putouts in 110 chances while playing primarily in left field.

She is coming off an outstanding junior season in which she batted .404 with 80 hits, 12 doubles, two triples, 27 home runs, 89 RBI, 34 walks, 67 runs scored, and 177 total bases. Doherty registered a .479 on-base percentage and a .894 slugging percentage. The Bolton, Mass., product set the Patriot League single-season record and ranked among the top 10 nationally in home runs (27, 5th), RBI (89, 3rd), and total bases (177, 7th). She collected 24 multi-hit games and 24 multi-RBI games, highlighted by a 3-4 performance that included a pair of home runs and six RBI during a 23-8 win over Holy Cross on April 26. Doherty smashed multiple home runs in four games while also recording a 15-game hitting streak and ending the season on a 25-game reached base streak.

In 2025, she started all 58 games while leading Boston University to its third-straight Patriot League Championship after batting .338 with 55 runs scored, 46 RBIs, 13 homers, eight doubles, three triples, three stolen bases, and 22 walks to earn a .406 on-base percentage. Her 13 home runs were the second-most in a single season in program history. She tallied 17 multi-hit games and 13 multi-RBI performances while posting a team-high 28-game hitting streak, along with a 29-game streak of reaching base. Defensively, Doherty had a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage with 70 putouts. She was named Patriot League Player of the Week after going a combined 5-for-8 with five walks, four RBIs, three runs scored, a homer, and a double over three games against Boston College and two contests against Kentucky.

As a freshman in 2024, Doherty started 46 of 56 games played in the outfield to help lead Boston U. to a 53-win season and both the Patriot League Regular Season and Conference Tournament titles. At the plate, she registered seven doubles, seven home runs, a triple, 37 RBI, 32 runs scored, and 19 walks. Doherty led Boston University with 13 multi-RBI games and six multi-hit games.

Prior to her time at Boston University, she started at Nashoba Regional High School in Bolton, Mass., bashing a school record 34 home runs and earning League MVP and League All-Star Team honors. As a junior, she tied her program’s single-season home run record by smashing 16 round-trippers. She was also an all-state selection in volleyball and an all-league honoree in indoor track and field.

Doherty is the third transfer to join the Razorbacks in the 2026 cycle, alongside Nevada transfer infielder Katie Wetteland and Notre Dame transfer infielder Ava Zachary.

Arkansas is coming off a historic 47-13 campaign, which featured the Razorbacks’ first trip to the Women’s College World Series in program history. The 2026 Arkansas squad’s 47 victories were the second-most in program history, while the Razorbacks’ 26 run-rule wins were a program record. At Bogle Park, Arkansas posted a 29-3 record, which marked the second-most wins and second-best winning percentage since the stadium opened in 2009, trailing only 31 wins in 2022 and a .931 winning percentage during a 27-2 campaign in 2018.
