#9 Razorbacks Move to 1st at Cabo Through 36 Holes

LOS CABOS, Mexico – The ninth-ranked Arkansas men’s golf program posted a 6-under round and jumped two spots to take the lead after 36 holes at the 14th annual Cabo Collegiate, presented by the Rodger and B.A. Kline Foundation, played at Twin Dolphin Club. Arkansas is 9-under (559) through two rounds and has three players among the top 15.

The Razorbacks hold a one-shot lead over #6 Arizona, who shot even par on Monday to stand at 560 (-8), while #11 Texas Tech turned in the round of the day (-12) to move into third with a 36-hole score of 562 (-6). The field features 12 of the nation’s top 51 programs, including six of the top 10. Rounding out the top 10 through two days are #3 Vanderbilt (566), Houston (568), #51 Stanford (569), #7 Tennessee (570), #8 Ole Miss (573), #18 Cal (575) and #12 Florida State (576).

Jacob Skov Olesen remains in a tie for second place, carding rounds of 68-67 for a 7-under total of 135. Stanford’s Michael Thorbjornsen, who fired a 65 on Monday to get to -9 for two rounds (69-65=134) leads Olesen and Tennessee’s Jake Hall by one stroke. Olesen birdied his second hole but dropped shots on holes 4 and 6. He got back to even with a birdie on hole 7. After five pars, Olesen carded four birdies over his final six holes for his 67.

John Daly II is tied for 10th after his 1-under-par 70 on Monday. He sits at -3 (139) through two rounds. He was 1-over after four holes but birdied three of his next six to make the turn at -2. He had eight pars and a bogey on the inward nine to shoot 70.

Thomas Curry is tied for 14th. The freshman has turned in a 70 each day and is -2 (140) for 36 holes.

Mateo Pulcini, playing as an individual, is even after two rounds. He shot 74 on Monday and is tied for 20th with an even-par total of 142 (68-74).

John Driscoll III climbed 12 spots into a tie for 39th. The graduate senior was even on Monday and is +4 (75-71=146) for the tournament.

Manuel Lozada is tied for 54th (74-74=148 / +6) and Matthis Lefevre, playing as an individual, is tied for 70th (77-78=155 / +13)

The third and final round of the Cabo Collegiate is set for Tuesday.
