Arkansas Duo Rice and Alter Advance to Semifinals Round

University of Arkansas women’s tennis duo Lauren Alter and Tatum Rice are the last Razorbacks to compete at the ITA AA Championships. The senior-junior duo will go on to compete in the main draw doubles consolation today at 2 p.m. (CT) where they will be facing Natalie Novotna and Rita Pinto of Virginia Tech.

DOUBLES PLAY:

After an 8-6 loss to Pennsylvania’s Iuliia Bryzgalova and Marija Cunic during the opening round of the main draw yesterday, Alter and Rice competed in the first round of the consolation draw against LSU’s Safiya Carrington and Eden Richardson. The Razorbacks won the consolation match by a score of 8-6, advancing them to the quarterfinal round of the main draw doubles consolation bracket.

Alter and Rice won their match today against Carrington and Richardson 8-6 and will advance to the semi-final round tomorrow.

WHAT TO LOOK FORWARD TO:

The duo of Alter and Rice will continue play  in the ITA AA Championship tournament tomorrow. Next tournament will be Nov. 1 where the Razorbacks will head to Dallas Texas, to compete at the SMU Invite.
