Arkansas Enhances 'Track Capital of the World'

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The University of Arkansas has announced new enhancements to Razorback track fans’ gameday experience with the installation of a new LED video board at Randal Tyson Track Center.

Home of the ‘Fastest Indoor Track in the World,’ the Daktronics designed and installed LED video board provides spectators with yet another world-class amenity to compliment the Hogs’ elite performance available for the fans’ viewing entertainment.

“I appreciate the support that we get from our administration,” said head men’s track and field coach Chris Bucknam. “Along with the addition of the Fowler Center, it really helps to take our Tyson Track Center to a world-class level.”

Located on the southeast side of the indoor track facility, the new video board measures about 12.5 feet high by 22 feet wide. Thanks to Daktronics’ 10-millimeter line spacing technology, the display will produce bright and clear imagery perfect for fans to take in the excitement of multiple events from the comfort of their seats.

The video board will be capable of showing live video, instant replays, real-time event results and graphics.

“Upgrades have been made all over campus and a tremendous job was done with the additions of these new displays,” said head women’s track and field coach Lance Harter. “I think it adds greatly to the exhilarating atmosphere of Tyson during our home meets.”

Arkansas debuted the new display at their home opener on Jan.15 to an audience of over 1,500 people. The Razorbacks will host four more track meets at the Tyson Center this season including two televised events: The Razorback Invitational on Jan. 29-30 and the SEC Indoor Championships on Feb. 26-27.

All-session tickets for the 2016 SEC Men’s and Women’s Indoor Track and Field Championships are now on sale. All-session ticket prices are $35 for reserved seating and $25 for adult general admission. Youth and general admission student tickets are available for $15.

Tickets will be available online, or by calling the Razorback Athletics Ticket Center at 800-982-4647. You can also visit the Ticket Center in person at 1295 S. Razorback Road, just east of Baum Stadium.
