Arkansas Homers Past No. 3 Georgia in Monday’s Finale, Matches Highest Ranked Series Win in Program History

ATHENS, Ga. – Ignited by Hannah Gammill’s two-home run effort and a five-run seventh, No. 20 Arkansas defeated No. 3 Georgia, 8-2, in Monday night’s rubber match to clinch their ninth consecutive ranked SEC road series win.

The victory equals the program’s highest ranked series win from last season’s series victory vs. No. 3 Tennessee.

Enhancing their record to 26-9, the Hogs also move to 5-4 in SEC with two ranked SEC road series wins this season.

The Razorbacks combined for three home runs – two from Hannah Gammill and one solo home run from Raigan Kramer. Arkansas posted nine hits throughout the ballgame. In her third career multi-home run game, Gammill exploded at the plate and finished 2-for-4 with five RBI and two runs scored. Raigan Kramer smashed her third home run of the season on a solo shot to right in the first. Bri Ellis went 1-for-3 with an RBI single to left in the fifth. Reagan Johnson and Cylie Halvorson each posted multi-hit outings with two hits apiece. Kennedy Miller plated a run in the seventh after getting hit by a pitch with the bases loaded. Lauren Camenzind rounded out Arkansas’ hits column after flaring a single to right center in the seventh.

Pitchers Robyn Herron and Morgan Leinstock held one of the nation’s best offenses to two runs on five hits. Making her first appearance in the circle since March 17, LHP Herron made the start and curbed the Bulldogs to two runs on three hits while fanning four across 3.1 frames. Herron retired the first five batters she faced before giving up a single to right in the second.

RHP Morgan Leinstock (8-2) earned the win after entering in fourth and shutting the door on the Bulldogs. Leinstock did not give up a run and checked Georgia to just two hits while punching out three across 3.2 innings. The Scottsdale, Ariz., product retired the first five batters she faced and only allowed two base runners.

T7 | With two outs and the bases loaded, Kennedy Miller was hit by a pitch to stretch the advantage to 4-2.

T7 | Hannah Gammill torched a grand slam to push the lead to 8-2.
