Arkansas Set for Big Ten/SEC Volleyball Challenge Tuesday and Wednesday

The Razorbacks continue their fast start to the season as the team is set to play in two matches during the Big Ten/SEC Volleyball Challenge Week on Tuesday, Sept. 1 and Wednesday, Sept. 2.

The Hogs will head to the home of SEC opponent Vanderbilt for the matchups, but they won’t face off with the Commodores. Arkansas plays the Rutgers Scarlet Knights on Tuesday at 3 p.m. and the Maryland Terrapins on Wednesday, also at 3 p.m., in Nashville. The games are part of a weeklong competition that features all 34 teams from both conferences, and Arkansas’ Tuesday tilt with Rutgers kicks off the slate.

Rutgers is 2-1 so far on the season, with wins over Bellarmine and Evansville. Maryland has just one match under its belt in 2026, a 3-0 sweep over Howard. The Terps play host Vanderbilt in the evening match on Tuesday at 7 p.m.

Arkansas is 1-0 in its lone previous meeting with Rutgers, a 3-0 victory in 2024. The Hogs will look to get their first-ever win over Maryland on Wednesday, as they’ve gone 0-2 in their previous matchups, the last in 2019.

The Razorbacks had a solid start to the season and went 3-0 in their three contests with SIUE, UTA and UTSA during opening weekend at Barnhill Arena. Arkansas dropped just one set of their 10 total and won each set by an average of 6.8 points.

Both matches in Nashville will be streamed on SEC Network+ and live stats will be provided.
