Arkansas Student-Athletes to Participate in Razorback Career Academy

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The University of Arkansas Student-Athlete Development Department has launched the Razorback Career Academy, an eight-week program that provides student-athletes the opportunity to learn career development skills.

Twenty student-athletes from nine Razorback sport programs will obtain career development tips in resume and cover letter writing, interview practices and presentation skills. The program is partnering with 18 organizations to review each student-athlete’s resume and cover letter.

During the final month of the program, student-athletes will be divided into teams and work in conjunction with a selected organization to complete a project. Organizations will have regularly scheduled weekly meetings and collaborate with student-athletes on their respective projects to pitch a startup business idea.

“We’re excited about this new initiative to develop Razorback student-athletes for life after graduation and are appreciative of the local companies joining us in this effort,” said Erica Nelson, Director of Student-Athlete Development.
