Arkansas Women’s Golf Releases 2021-22 Schedule
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas Women’s Golf Head Coach Shauna Taylor announced the 2021-2022 schedule, setting the stage for the upcoming season, today. The finalized schedule features many of the same events the Hogs have become familiar with, but also contains several different events that the Razorbacks didn’t take part in last season.
“I’m excited for our 2021-22 schedule to be released,” Taylor said. “It has many familiar stops on it, including the Blessings Collegiate Invitational, where our fans and families can come cheer us on once again in Fayetteville. It also includes another stop here in our home state with the Stephens Cup, as well as a trip to Arizona to prepare us for the postseason. We will be challenged every week while providing our team the competition to prepare them for the Championship segment. We have a very talented squad that will be primed and ready to represent Razorback Nation in every event we take part in.”
Arkansas will take part in eight total regular season events, four in the fall and four in the spring, before heading to the SEC Women’s Golf Championship in mid-April. As previously mentioned by Taylor, Arkansas will play two events in the Natural State: The BCI, which is in its second year at the Blessings Golf Club in Johnson, Ark., and the Jackson T Stephens Cup, which will be held in Roland, Ark., near Little Rock.
The fall once again opens for the Hogs in Charleston, South Carolina, as the Razorbacks will take part in the Cougar Classic (Sept. 13-14). Following their return to the Cougar, Arkansas will return to its home course to defend its BCI title, as Taylor’s Hogs won the inaugural event last fall by 18 strokes. The Razorbacks will host that event October 4-6, and Razorback fans are encouraged to come out to the Blessings to cheer on the Hogs. Taylor’s crew will stay in Arkansas, as the Stephens Cup (Oct. 18-20) is the next up on the 21-22 calendar for the Hogs. Arkansas finishes up its fall season with a trip to West Point, Mississippi, where the squad will take part in The Ally at Old Waverly (Oct. 25-27).
The spring portion of the schedule once again begins in Florida, as Taylor’s team will head to the Moon Golf Invitational (Feb. 20-22), which will be held in Melbourne. The Hogs will stay on the east coast following their spring debut, as the Hogs will take part in the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate (Feb. 28 – March 2) just six days later.
Because the 2022 NCAA Championship will take place in Scottsdale, Arizona, Taylor has her Hogs headed to Tucson, where they will take part in the MountainView Collegiate (March 18-20), cohosted by Missouri and Kansas State.
Arkansas will finish up its regular season in late March, as the Hogs will head back to Athens, Ga. for the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic (March 25-27). The Hogs actually played in the event twice last season – once in the fall and once in the spring.
The postseason will begin for Arkansas at the SEC Women’s Golf Championship, which will be held in Birmingham, Alabama (April 11-17). Regionals (May 9-11) will follow, and the 2022 season for NCAA Division I Golf will once again finish at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale Arizona (May 20-25).
