Bain Named First-Team Freshman All-American by D1Softball
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas softball utility/designated player Brinli Bain was named a First-Team Freshman All-American by D1Softball, the publication announced on Thursday morning.
Bain was previously selected as a Softball America Freshman All-American on May 19.
Bain is having one of the greatest rookie campaigns in program history. The Eagleville, Tennessee product has posted a .369 batting average with 55 hits, 19 doubles, three homers, 51 walks, 45 runs scored, 34 RBI, and a .532 OBP. She was named an NFCA Freshman of the Year Top 25 Finalist (April 23). She has registered 16 multi-hit games and 10 multi-RBI games this season while tallying multiple walks in 10 games. With 51 walks this season, Bain is just the fourth player in program history to draw 50+ walks in a season, alongside Devon Wallace (79: 2013, 58: 2014, 53: 2012), Bri Ellis (69, 2025), and Raigan Kramer (52, 2025)
Entering the week, she leads all DI Freshman with a .532 on-base percentage, having reached base in 54 of her 57 games started this season. She is currently tied for second in the Arkansas single-season record books in doubles while ranking fifth in on-base percentage.
Bain leads all individual players on College World Series teams with a .588 on-base percentage during NCAA Tournament play, while her .545 batting average ranks third. In the Razorbacks’ NCAA Regional, Bain batted a team-leading .714 while posting a .833 on-base percentage with five hits, a double, two runs scored, an RBI, and five walks as Arkansas went 3-0 with all three wins coming by run-rule. In a 10-2 (6 inn.) Regional Final win over South Florida on May 17, Bain went 3-3 with a double, a run scored, and a walk. One day earlier, she tied an NCAA Tournament single-game program record with three walks in a 9-1 (6 inn.) win over South Florida.
Arkansas is 47-11 this season with a program-record 26 wins coming by run-rule. Arkansas joined the 1995 Arizona Wildcats as the only teams in program history to run-rule its first five games in the NCAA tournament. The Hogs swept their way through Super Regionals by defeating Duke 14-5 (5 inn.) in game one before punching their ticket to Oklahoma City with a 10-2 (5 inn.) triumph over Duke on Saturday. The Razorbacks were the only team in the nation to go 3-0 with three run-rule wins in regional play after defeating Fordham 8-0 (6 inn.) and USF twice by the scores of 9-1 and 10-2 in six innings. It marked just the eighth time in NCAA Tournament history that a team had gone undefeated while winning each of its games by run-rule since the Super Regional format was introduced in 2005. The Hogs are outscoring opponents 447-153 this season.
