Bienzobas, Ndungane Win on Final Day in Fayetteville

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Four members of the Arkansas women’s tennis team concluded their week at the PTT 25K Fayetteville on Sunday with Olga Bienzobas and Lilitha Ndungane winning their final matches of the event.

Two Razorbacks faced off in the finals of the 4th place playoffs as Bienzobas defeated Katie Ferguson in straight sets to take the title. Bienzobas totaled four wins on the week while Ferguson grabbed two victories during the tournament.

Ndungane picked up her second consecutive win and earned the 5th place playoffs crown on a walkover as she was scheduled to play Magdalena Bresson Saturday afternoon.

After an impressive week at the PTT 25K Fayetteville, Katarina Pavlechova dropped a hard-fought battle in the finals of the 1st place playoffs to Caroline Driscoll, 5-7, 6-3, 4-6. Pavlechova concludes the event with five victories and only dropped three sets throughout the week.

The Hogs will have nearly two weeks off before competing in two simultaneous tournaments from Nov. 7-10. The squad will send various members to San Diego, Calif., for the ITA Conference Masters and to Ann Arbor, Mich., for the ITA Sectional Championships.
