DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Following the Murphy USA El Dorado Shootout, the Epson Tour announced today that Brooke Matthews has mathematically clinched her 2025 LPGA Tour card through this season’s Race for the Card. Matthews joins Yahui Zhang, Lauren Stephenson, Fatima Fernandez Cano and Jessica Porvasnik as clinched players, and is the last to be announced before the full top 15 is revealed upon the conclusion of the Epson Tour Championship at Indian Wells in October.

Matthews secured her spot in the top 15 with a tie for fifth finish at the Murphy USA El Dorado Shootout. The result marked her seventh top-10 finish of the year and her fifth top-five result. The 26-year-old sits at No. 5 in the Race for the Card rankings with one tournament remaining.

The Arkansas native first earned LPGA Tour Membership with a T30 finish at 2021 Final Qualifying (formerly LPGA Q-Series) and earned an LPGA-best result of T10 at the 2022 Dow Great Lakes Bay Invitational.

“That’s amazing news,” said Matthews. “It’s been a long season, I played a lot of really good golf, haven’t quite got the win yet, but I think this is my third or fourth top five, so I’m pretty happy with that. It just feels great. We work so hard, the competition so good out here, so it’s really rewarding to get this news.”

The news followed Matthews’ return to her home state, where she competed collegiately for the University of Arkansas and earned All-American and All-SEC honors in her time with the Razorbacks. Matthews also participated in the 2021 Augusta National Women’s Amateur and represented the United States at the 2021 Curtis Cup.

In 2024, the Epson Tour transitioned from a money-based ranking to a points-based ranking to determine which athletes will receive LPGA Tour cards in 2025. Following a similar structure to the LPGA Tour, the season-long Race for the Card sees Epson Tour Members compete for Points in each Official Epson Tour Tournament, with a 30% increased Points value for the Epson Tour Championship at Indian Wells.
