Tatiana Makarova

Tatiana Makarova was named the Assistant Coach of the Arkansas women’s tennis team on July 6, 2023 after serving the previous season as a volunteer assistant coach at her alma mater, Texas A&M. In her first season on the Hill, Makarova helped lead the Razorbacks to a final ranking of No. 44 and five ranked wins, including top-40 victories over No. 15 South Carolina and No. 38 Ole Miss. In 2024, Makarova coached Carolina Gomez Alonso, who earned First Team All-SEC honors and qualified for the NCAA Tournament Singles Championships. As a volunteer assistant at Texas A&M, Makarova helped lead the Aggies to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Tournament and a 30-3 (13-0 SEC) record while winning their second consecutive SEC regular season title.

Makarova comes to Fayetteville after a successful five-year career at Texas A&M. In 2022, Makarova was named an ITA All-American in doubles, an All-SEC First Team selection, a member of the SEC All-Tournament Team, and was named the SEC Tournament MVP in addition to reaching her career-high doubles ranking at No. 2. In 2021, she was an ITA All-American in both singles and doubles, an All-SEC First Team selection, a member of the SEC All-Tournament Team, and achieved her career-high singles ranking at No. 10. Makarova advanced to the National Quarterfinals of the NCAA Doubles draw alongside Jayci Goldsmith in 2021 and 2022. Makarova ranks second in career doubles wins and third in career singles wins at Texas A&M.
